Child ID Program

Child ID Program

Happy Tuesday Academy of Westhaven families! I can’t believe that we are already on our last days of March. We have had the best time this month beginning all of the spring activities and soaking up the warmer weather. We recently had the chance to welcome New York Life to come in and offered a free Child ID program to our families. Everyone loved it and was excited to take advantage of the opportunity.

In today's world, ensuring our children's safety is our number one priority. A Child ID Program provides a comprehensive identification document containing important information about your child, including their photograph, fingerprints, and other essential details. In the unfortunate event of an emergency, having this information readily available can be invaluable for law enforcement agencies in locating a missing child.

New York Life's Child ID Program is designed to be simple, efficient, and, most importantly, free of charge. During the session, highly trained professionals took the time to guide parents through the process of creating a secure identification card for their child. The process was quick, non-invasive, and takes only a few minutes of your time.

Aside from the peace of mind that comes with having a Child ID, participating in this program offers other advantages. In the event of an emergency, having a Child ID readily available can expedite the process of locating and identifying your child.

At The Academy of Westhaven, we prioritize the safety and well-being of every child entrusted to our care. The New York Life Child ID Program aligns perfectly with this commitment. We are excited to continue to offer this again in the future so that everyone is able to have the chance to create their Childs ID that have not done so already. Take a look at the fun below!

☘️Save the Shamrock Activity☘️

☘️Save the Shamrock Activity☘️

Happy Friday Academy of Westhaven families! March is here, and with it comes the spirit of St. Patrick's Day! In the heart of this festive season, preschoolers embark on an exciting adventure to "Save the Shamrock" through a delightful fine motor activity. Let's dive into the magical world where tiny hands work wonders and creativity knows no bounds.

We set up this fun activity and the littles were eager to jump in. We had a station set for two of our littles to be able to have a chance to Save the Shamrock!

We mixed our Shamrocks in with an array of Pots of Gold, Leprechaun Hats and Rainbows. We then set them up with mini tongs so they could then build those fine motor skills and only pick out the Shamrocks and then place them in their bin. We switched it up a little to make it developmentally appropriate for each of our littles and for the older kiddos we were able to make a challenge of who was able to save the most Shamrocks!

We had the best time with this festive activity and is one that we will be doing again! Check out the fun below!

📚Dr.Suess Week!📚

📚Dr. Seuss Week!📚

What an incredible week we've had at The Academy of Westhaven as we celebrated the whimsical world of Dr. Seuss! From mustache madness to cozy pajama days, we immersed ourselves in the colorful characters and imaginative stories of this Dr. Seuss!

We kicked off the week with Mustache Monday, channeling our inner Lorax with funky fake mustaches adorning our faces. Laughter filled the air as little ones proudly sported their silly 'staches.

Tuesday brought Fox in Socks Crazy Sock Day, everyone got to showcase their most outrageous and mismatched socks. From polka dots to stripes, every pair was a testament to creativity and individuality, just like the vibrant illustrations in Dr. Seuss's books.

Wednesday was Oh, the Places you’ll Go Day and had us reminiscing about our favorite adventures as we wore shirts depicting our favorite places we've visited. Whether it was a trip to the beach, the zoo, or even outer space, each shirt sparked lively conversations and shared memories among our little explorers.

Thursday was a special day indeed, as we celebrated Cat in the Hat, Hay Day! Everyone came in wearing their favorite hats of all kinds!

Finally, we wrapped up the week with cozy Pajama Day, inspired by Dr. Seuss's "The Sleep Book." Snuggled up in their favorite pajamas, our preschoolers enjoyed a day of relaxation and bedtime stories, complete with pillows and blankets galore.

But the fun didn't stop there! Each day at pick-up, our little ones were treated to Dr. Seuss-themed snacks that perfectly complemented our literary adventures. From Hop on Pop Popcorn to Truffula tree snacks, every bite was a delicious nod to the imaginative world of Dr. Seuss.

Thank you for joining us on this magical journey, and we can't wait to see what adventures await us next!

Valentines Day!

Valentines Day Fun!

Happy Thursday Academy of Westhaven families! What a great start we have had this month. We have enjoyed spreading all of the love to the ones closest to our hearts. This month we have been busy with allll of the fun activities, crafts and snacks!

Preschool Valentine’s Day parties are an adorable way to teach young children about love, kindness, and friendship. One of the most cherished traditions during these celebrations is passing out valentines to classmates and teachers. However, to add an extra sprinkle of joy, why not indulge in a delightful ice cream sundae bar? Here’s a peek into the magic of preschool Valentine’s Day parties filled with love and sweet treats.

Everyone was so excited to come in their finest Pink and Red attire. The fun got started as soon as our littles arrived, and the day did not slow down. They spent the morning all welcoming each other with the warmest hugs and greetings. Then they were ready to gift their friend with the Valentines that they had each selected for their friends. From handmade cards adorned with glitter and stickers to store-bought ones featuring beloved characters, each valentine is a token of affection. Smiles lit up their faces as they receive cards adorned with hearts, animals, and sweet messages.

What better way to end the day filled with love than with a scrumptious ice cream sundae bar? Delighted giggles fill the room as children gather around tables adorned with an array of toppings – from rainbow sprinkles and chocolate syrup to fresh fruit and whipped cream. With wide-eyed wonder, they customize their sundaes, creating delicious masterpieces to enjoy with friends.

We truly had a day together creating memories that will last a lifetime! Check out the fun below.

❄️Dress like a Snowman❄️

❄️Dress like a Snowman❄️

Happy Monday Academy of Westhaven Families! We are so happy to start another week with our incredible littles. It’s hard to believe that we are already in the last week of January. We have been having the best time with all of our winter themed activities.

We recently had a Dress like a Snowman Day. The littles and teachers both had a BLAST! It was a day filled with frosty fun and snowy excitement as kids and teachers alike transformed into the cutest snowmen you've ever seen!

From the moment the little ones walked through the door, Laughter and giggles echoed through the halls as our little snowmen and snowwomen eagerly joined in the snowy fun!

Teachers, with creative flair and a touch of frosty magic, donned their snowman costumes, complete with carrot noses, coal eyes, and cozy scarves. The joy on the children's faces was priceless as they saw their beloved teachers transformed into whimsical snow characters.

In our imaginative classrooms, activities centered around all things snowman-related. From crafting snowman art masterpieces to reading enchanting snowman stories, our little learners were engaged in a world of frosty wonder. The teachers led activities that promoted teamwork, creativity, and, of course, a whole lot of snowy fun!

Today was more than just dressing up as snowmen; it was about creating magical moments, fostering creativity, and building a sense of togetherness.
